A simple technique: Microsoft Outlook 📨📧📩

I had a problem with my Outlook and had to uninstall it and re-install to resolve the issue.

All my emails are saved on the  .pst  folder on my computer, and once you reinstall the software, all my emails automatically appear in the exact same sequence as they were saved before. That is pretty cool, but there is another problem.

The problem with above action, is that if you have more than 66,000 emails on your web server inbox, MS Outlook will begin to download these emails all over again. Therefore you will end up having duplicate emails in your outlook inbox. And this is a very frustrating process as it takes forever to download 66000 emails. This may take, up to a month, depending on your internet speed.

There is a very simple technique that one can exercise to avoid the above problem.

Here is the step by step procedure:

1. Open your web browser, Squirrel Mail, RoundCube or Horde,
2. Create a new folder, name it, lets say “Downloaded Mails”,
3. Open your inbox,
4. Select ALL mails, (the mails will get highlighted),
5. Select move to folder and select “Downloaded Mails” folder,
6. All your mails will be moved to the new folder.
7. Now that all the mails are no more in the Inbox folder, they will not be downloaded to your Outlook.
8. All new emails will be saved in the inbox on the Webserver as usual.
9. You can still access your old mails on the Webserver in the downloaded folder, in case you need to in the future.
10. In case you again encounter a problem in your outlook (maybe you lose your .pst files) or your computer crashes and you need to buy another computer and need to re-install Outlook and retrieve your emails, you would have to go to your web server and move the emails back from Downloaded Mails to Inbox. The mails will then painfully and slowly download to Outlook.

Monthly Maintenance

Dear reader:

It is a pleasure to have you being updated on my monthly technical activities every month. I am glad that you’re following with keen and great interest. Amongst my regular monthly maintenance on customer sites, travelling to the ‘’Birth Place of Nation Hospitality’’, Grand Bassa County, Buchanan City Liberia 2 h 12 min (137.3 km) via Tubman Blvd every month has become very amazing and interesting especially when I arrive on both sites, Equatorial Palm Oil and LIBINCO PALMBAY, all the staff embrace me by saying ‘’welcome Daniel… thank God you have come’’.  Meeting new staff, expats and consultants is always being good.

My technical visit consists of:

1. Hardware Maintenance for desktop/laptop

• Blow dust from the PC using a blower: All components around the system unit

·       Power interface
·       USB
·       VGA
·       Serial cable slots
·       Check proper connection of all cables
·       Clean

2. System Maintenance for desktop/laptop

       ·       Check free space on hard drive and inform customer if necessary    
       ·       Check system device manager and inform customer if driver is missing    
       ·       Scan hard drive for error using windows defragmentation tool    
       ·       Scan system to remove viruses using Anti-virus software
       ·       Delete temporary internet files    
       ·       Empty recycle bin 

3. Maintenance for Printer/Scanner

·           ·        Turn off printer/scanner

·       Clean input screen/keys using Anti-static Foam Cleaner

·       Remove toner/cartridge and blow using blower

·       Clean flat board/glass with soft cloth using Anti-static Foam clean

·       Reset all connections including CPU, Memory card, Data cable and Expansion card

·       Turn on printer/scanner

·       Send/scan text document to make sure all is okay

Concluding on the above, I move on to the next stage by checking all internet connections LAN/WAN and resolve any relating issues with end-user. Update wireless routers/switches, printers and other software firmware if required and all power sources. I do this for both sites: Equatorial Palm Oil (EPO) and Palmbay which is about 30km from Buchanan city.

The main purpose of our technical monthly maintenance is to avoid and prevent future problems such as:

 1.     Loss of data
 2.     Corrupt windows/mac Operating System
3.     Slowness
4.     Viruses
5.     Smooth cooling system
6.     Power surges etc…

Our maintenance contract is open to NGOs, Banking Institutions, Mining Companies, Palm Oil industries, Private and Government entities. Precaution is better than cure. Contact us anywhere in Liberia for 24H service and save yourself the stress!

How to Reset Your Forgotten Password in Windows 10

I am Farman Elahi, IT Technician of New Africa Technology Company. A week ago, I was finally successful in reset forgotten password for Windows 10. Before few days a call came from Social Impact.

To reset the password using this method, insert your Windows installation disk and boot from it. Once you are in the setup screen, press the keyboard shortcut “Shift + F10” to launch the Command Prompt.

Once the Command Prompt has been opened, copy the below commands and execute them one after the other. All we are doing is replacing “utilman.exe” with “cmd.exe.”

Type Diskpart Press Enter. Than Type List Volume press Enter.

On my system F: is system Drive. Check your system drive.

Type move.utilman.exe utiman.exe.bak press Enter

Type copy cmd.exe utiman.exe.bak Press Enter

Once logged in, you can reset the other account’s password from the Local Users and Groups window. You can access it by entering “lusrmgr.msc” in the run dialog box (Win + R)
